StEPS Education Program
A Catalyst for Change in the Dance Industry:
A Free Holistic Educational Course for Dance Parents, Educators, & Dancers.
Apolla believes in empowering dancers both inside and outside the studio. That's why we created the StEPS Initiative (Studios for Equity, Prevention, and Science) - a free educational program designed to foster a safe and healthy dance environment for all.
The StEPS 2020 Initiative
This program began as a way to support dance studios during challenging times, providing financial relief and requiring studio owners to complete a curated course covering essential topics:
- Racism and Equity in Dance
- Sexual Abuse Prevention
- Dance Medicine and Science (including injury prevention, the importance of proper footwear like compression socks, dance socks and dance shoes, and understanding common conditions like plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis)
- Gender Equity
- Dance Integration
- Nutrition for Dancers
Recognizing its value as a professional development tool, we made the StEPS course FREE for everyone!
