Revolutionizing Grip Socks & Dancer Footwear
Yes, the AMP Shock is ideal for barre and pilates because its no-show profile fits inside any studio footwear or works standalone with the refreshable traction option for reliable grip on studio floors and pilates reformers. The APMA-accepted 20-30 mmHg graduated compression with patented arch and ankle support technology provides targeted arch support during relevés, footwork sequences, mat exercises, and jumping board work where your feet take repeated impact. The refreshable traction provides reliable grip on reformer foot bars, studio hardwood, and mat surfaces without slipping, and it lasts as long as the sock itself, restoring with every wash. The low-profile no-show design meets studio dress codes and looks clean with any barre or pilates outfit while providing real medical-grade support that cheap grip socks from the studio boutique cannot match.
Unlike those disposable grip socks that provide zero compression and zero arch support, the AMP Shock actively reduces foot fatigue and improves circulation throughout your entire class. All Apolla styles earned APMA acceptance through rigorous board-certified panel review for promoting foot health and are FSA/HSA eligible as qualified medical expenses with no prescription required. Made in USA.
Natalie R. uses them for barre workouts. "I suffer from plantar fasciitis at times and these compression socks have helped. I wear them at barre and feel less pain from my feet. The next day is where I see significant less pain."
Yes, many professional dancers now use the AMP Shock instead of traditional jazz shoes because it provides everything a jazz shoe offers plus significant benefits that traditional jazz shoes cannot deliver. The no-show design provides studio-grade refreshable traction similar to a jazz shoe sole while adding APMA-accepted 20-30 mmHg graduated compression, patented arch and ankle support technology, and ankle stabilization at key ligament insertion points that traditional jazz shoes completely lack. Traditional jazz shoes provide zero arch support, zero compression, and zero ankle stabilization. The AMP Shock replaces them entirely with real support that protects your feet during demanding classes and performances. The lightweight construction allows complete freedom of movement while the refreshable traction lasts as long as the sock itself and restores with every wash, unlike jazz shoe soles that wear down permanently and require expensive replacement.
The AMP Shock was designed by professional dancers Kaycee Jones and Brianne Zborowski who needed better support than any dance footwear on the market. All Apolla styles earned APMA acceptance through rigorous board-certified panel review for promoting foot health and are FSA/HSA eligible as qualified medical expenses with no prescription required. Made in USA.
Holly M. experienced the stability difference. "The compression of these socks provide stability from the toes to all the up the ankle. With both the traction and compression, I did not have to worry about readjusting once during class."
Yes, the AMP Shock works exceptionally well for contemporary dance when you want a no-show aesthetic combined with reliable refreshable traction grip for technical floor work, weight transfers, and directional changes. The APMA-accepted 20-30 mmHg graduated compression with patented arch and ankle support technology provides key ankle stability and arch support at key ligament insertion points for the demanding movements that define contemporary technique. The refreshable traction provides grip on studio floors, marley, and sprung stages while the no-show design stays invisible under costumes and performance attire. For a more barefoot sensory experience with direct floor connection, consider the Joule Shock open-toe compression sock with direct floor feel instead.
It provides the same APMA-accepted compression and ankle stabilization with an open-toe and open-heel design for maximum floor feel. The Alpha Shock half-sole compression sock with traction for studio athletics is another option for contemporary dancers who want to replace half-sole shoes and pirouette shoes with compression-integrated footwear. All three styles were designed by professional dancers Kaycee Jones and Brianne Zborowski and earned APMA acceptance through rigorous board-certified panel review for promoting foot health. All Apolla styles are FSA/HSA eligible as qualified medical expenses with no prescription required. Made in USA.
Chana T. made the switch for contemporary class. "My new fave! Game changer!! Perfect socks for contemporary class!"
The AMP Shock is designed for dancers with refreshable traction technology engineered for studio floors, marley, and sprung stages. It replaces jazz shoes entirely with real support that jazz shoes completely lack. The AMP non-Shock version is built for general athletic use with cheerleaders wearing sneakers, pickleball players, golfers, and everyday wear inside athletic footwear without dance-specific traction. Both the AMP Shock and AMP provide identical APMA-accepted 20-30 mmHg graduated compression with patented arch and ankle support technology in a discreet no-show design that stays completely hidden inside shoes. The only difference is the refreshable traction on the bottom of the AMP Shock for barefoot dance floor grip. The compression, arch support, ankle stabilization at key ligament insertion points, and overall construction are exactly the same between both styles.
Both styles were designed by professional dancers Kaycee Jones and Brianne Zborowski and earned APMA acceptance through rigorous board-certified panel review for promoting foot health. All Apolla styles are FSA/HSA eligible as qualified medical expenses with no prescription required. Made in USA. Choose the AMP Shock for dance class where you need floor grip. Choose the AMP for athletic footwear and daily wear where traction is not needed.
June G. loves the AMP version. "These Amp Shocks are a most welcome and different experience! Having RA for years with foot issues and preferring going barefoot at home, these Amps have provided more relief, comfort, even ankle support somehow than anything else I have tried."
I had excellent interaction over a sock manufacturing defect. They listened and went out of their way to correct the problem and find me the best fit
I am 70+ years old and walk everyday. I was having trouble wearing callous on my feet. I switched to Apollo and I no longer have those issues. No pain walking now!
My daughter loves these for dance class - a little bit of traction to keep from slipping but still able to turn easily and the arch support is awesome!
I have high arches and was a dancer 20 years of my life. Now, I am 49 and have developed awful foot pain. No doctor can determine why or a cure. These socks have helped tremendously!
I was surprised how much I loved these socks! At least as supportive if not more than KT tape on my foot, yet so much easier. And doesn’t rip off my skin. And isn’t disposable. I’m ordering more!
I love the compression. It feels like a free massage every time i wear them. My feet are refreshed.
I teach six hours of technique classes in a row, 3 days a week, and before I started wearing apollas the pain in my feet was becoming unbearable. Instantly, after wearing them the pain in my arches and metatarsals is gone! I am 50 years old and never found this kind of relief in ANY other form of footwear.
Thank you so much for taking time to share your feedback! We are so happy you're loving your Apollas and don't hesitate to reach out to our team at hello@apollaperformance.com if you need anything at all. We appreciate your support!

The concept and design of these socks is incredible. They're supportive, comfortable, and give me pain-free traction on all types of flooring that I have worn them on. (No tiny traction dots that exacerbate my neuropathy!!!)
Unfortunately, the workmanship of these products (other pairs included) is not commiserate with the price point.
I was in the midst of choreographing when my package arrived, so I immediately sat to put on the AMP with traction socks. As you can see in the photos, both of these AMP tractions had issues: a few existing pulls on one and an issue with the traction placement on the other.
Despite this, I was excited to use them and have found them wonderful in practice. However- after a month, the small pull is a larger snag. I don't know how much wear is left before they are compromised.
*It is worth noting that I did not reach out to the company, as my ADHD means I'm somehow incapable of returning things.... And I was excited to just use what I had ordered.
Again, I actually love these from a comfort and design point of view. Hopefully future pairs (yes I'm still trying again) will reflect the price I'm paying for socks.
Our socks are such high compression socks with a lot of fabric stuffed into a small surface area to create our energy absorption pad...so that can cause a few strands of elastic or yarn that would typically stay on the inside will pop out. This does not lessen the effectiveness of your socks. You can snip the elastics down to the sock (do not pull on them or snip the sock). These elastics popping out are not a sign of holes or lack of durability...just wear and tear that can be easily clipped if the aesthetics bother you. Never fear though, please keep an eye on your email and we will reach out to you with further instructions and tips.
My daughter loves these socks. She wants more. She says they keep her feet from hurting after long practices and games. My daughter is small for a 12 year old so I got the smallest size and she won’t cheer without them.
These socks have changed my whole life. I am missing a sesamoid bone in my left foot and it results in a large callus in that foot, which can be painful. So I've started wearing compression socks. I wear these socks probably every day if I'm not wearing a dressier shoe. I am on the go all the time: working out, dance practice, cocktail serving weekend job, traveling, teaching dance classes, etc. I went on a 2-week trip in May to Disney World in Florida, then NYC for a dance congress. I also squeezed in some morning pavement runs during that trip. I practically abused my feet those 2 weeks, but with these socks, my feet feel better than they have in the last 6 years (since I started dancing).
The ONLY socks I’ll wear. Every single day. For daily living, workouts and dance. They have saved my feet and ankles!
I am a dance teacher with plantar fasciitis. If I knew what a difference the amp would make I would have purchased them 6 months ago. I was taping my foot but now I don’t have to. What I like about them is the arch support and thicker heel fabric. They are different from the other Apollo’s I own and these are my favorite. I’m ordering more so that I don’t have to wash the same pair every night.
we love these! Movement Source Dance Company in Phoenix AZ wore them in an outdoor performance and they held up well and feel great to dance in!
I’m in love with the Amp socks. Before I started wearing the socks I could hardly stand on my feet for more than just a few minutes due to a high arch and shoe’s with little to no arch support. Now I’m able to do what ever I want. Apolla has been a life saver. They are worth every penny.
I love my socks. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and they help tremendously. Sometimes I just wear the socks around the house it gives my in step support. I’d highly recommend to anyone who’s is fasciitis or foot pain
This is my favorite so far . Why? The low fit. I LOVE the higher profile socks as well but these are easier to get on and off to me. I wear them most of the day and they give my feet great support before during and after activity . And .. you don’t have to wash them as often as regular socks . Sounds gross but they do not retain odor.
My daughter Jasmine has been wearing Shocks for 3 years. This Christmas I had purchased quite a few pairs, just “because” she loves & swears by them. While she was at Sleeping Beauty rehearsal she rolled her foot. As I met her at urgent care the 1st thing I handed her was a NEW pair... as the compression was “NEWER” dr recommended her to wrap and put compression on it. When the Dr saw her shocks & heard how fast she put them on before being exams , stated that’s most likely what helped the swelling from spreading. So thank you for keeping this dancer able to dance & perform in Sleeping Beauty production.

These socks are so comfy!
I love the support they give me when I'm on my feet all day!
I have been suffering from the effects of nerve damage on my ankle, foot, and toes. These socks give my foot a stability I didn’t think possible. I’m very happy and I’m going to order a few more pair.
Love these socks. Great for dancing on wood or marley floors.
Great for on the go all day. No achy feet. Will look at other compressionsocks with Apolla.
